“My main series of Contemporary paintings – ‘Scribe’ embraces the written word, using quotations that have great meaning to me and the piece I am working on. I mainly use acrylics as the core material for my paintings, but I love to add more texture using epoxy resin, glass, plaster and silver.” Nathalie Lomas - 2007
The narrative of this series of paintings concentrates on the complexity of human nature; how the individual being, over time builds up layers, hides and over-emphasizes others, whether unconscious or deliberate.
These layers created from life experiences can sometimes form the personality and take control. If not nurtured the real person, the core individual is overpowered and almost forgotten.
“My perception of this is much like the act of painting. The realisation of what is produced doesn’t occur until it has fully formed and grown into something of great substance.”
Nathalie is currently working on her new series of paintings which will be displayed on this website in due course.
